According to a study published by BioMed Central, there has been a link between beneficial side effects and those who undergo acupuncture or homeopathic remedies for medical issues. Due to the increase in demand over the years for acupuncture and homeopathic remedies, the study aimed to look at why there was an increase for such methods, and if they indeed produced positivehealing results within patients.
The study involved studying over 5000 acupuncture patients and over 900 patients going through homeopathic treatment. A “standardised quality-of-life questionnaire” was created and given to patients to fill out. This questionnaire along with patient’s medical history and questions about patient satisfaction during their healthcare experience were combined in order to create the data used for this study. Researchers found a significant increase in benefit of treatment shown amongst a high percentage of patients being documented for the study. Their results led them to a few conclusions about receiving daily acupuncture treatment. The conclusions were that evidence showed a “subjective benefit” for those receiving acupuncture and homeopathy. This was especially true for patients battling chronic illness and disease. These patients seemingly had given up hope for common medical practices and switched to acupuncture.
